The Triplets of Lust

Why do you desire others place, assets and relationships?
Do you not know that the best place for you to be is your ship?
His is good, you cry; yours is great you deny:
All you have is all you need to get all that you need to be whole.

To acquire what he desires, Lust made ways to make man lost;
Envy, Jealousy and Covetousness, these are the triplets of Lust,
They are ways that seems right unto men but they end in destruction;
When God says: “You have all things”; Lust says, “Nothing is sufficient: Get into the competition!”

All that Jealousy desires is to stripe others off the warmth of relationship,
Envy, doesn’t care about sustenance but attainment of lofty heights,
Covetousness delights in compounding asset that don’t endure neither can you enjoy,
All that others possess, we assess just for access to make them ours.

Applying “Godliness with contentment” destroys them like a bomb:
 Whoever neglects the triplets sees the narrow way that leads not to the tomb;
Like the Naked Adam, those who follow the Lust way can’t present their works,
In regret they write: Whoever loves money never has Enough!

The Prodigal Son in me

Is my right to choose a curse?
Why is it to all my miseries, the cause?
Why has the lust of my eyes got me lost
And my feeling have made paid great costs?

Attractions of life ravage and blind my soul,
Faraway land from my father I chose to go;
Far from his corrections and tutelage,
‘cos in pride, I think I’m of age.

Who shall save me from this miry pit?
Though distant, help comes from him who on the throne seats,
Why has my soul and body led me this way?
Wait! Where have I kept my spirit all day?

I will arise! My father won’t clench his fist,
He would rather give me a feast;
Daddy, I’m sorry for wandering like a beast:
He spoke: “You are a new man, Live by the Spirit!”

Jehovah Eloheenu: The Lord Our God

Jehovah Eloheenu: The Lord Our God

Psa 99:5  Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; [for] he [is] holy.

The Lord is God, and there is none beside him!
You may disagree, and let us ponder!
The peace He give despite many waters grow stronger,
All his works are beautiful like the flower:
Of Him, does glory, honour and power consist;
Despite our shortcomings, His mercy persist.

Haven’t you heard? Has it not occurred to you?
Our God can’t be learnt by empirical analysis;
Trying to buy Him will lead to paralysis:
Rejecting His existence shows neurosis.

Who is he that doesn’t know I have you as God?
Who is he that runs after gods?
By what can his god prove its existence?
It should have learnt from Dagon and Pharaoh’s snake!
The God I serve not only lives, His people he doesn’t forsake.

Come; let’s enter His presence with praises,
It is He, whose power is displayed in all places,
His Majesty is worshipped by all races,
In his arm, the humble He raises.
