Nigeria from the Hills of Plateau

I took to my heels,
I ascended unto the hills,
I saw what the future holds,
Its direction of the bold:
Up NEPA! Is extinct within our borders,
Our streets are free from beggars,
We treat all men as brothers,
No more ethnic or religious barriers,
Neither does nepotism rule our careers.

As the sun like an eagle soared,
With Confidence, like a lion I roared;
I ran across the veins of gold,
I saw beauty of our land unfold:
Slow release, efficient use of coal,
And other resources our sweet goal;
The wells of Oloibiri hasn’t run dry,
Yet doesn’t kill our fry!
Do you know the nations’ food basket?
It is now a continents’ food market!
The flora and fauna of Yankari,
Feed the screen of nations with amazement;
Ever roaring and splashing, Family of Kainji,
Rejoice as they light our hearts to contentment,
Didn’t history tell of the pillar of fire in Onna?
It now put smiles on Nnena!
JAMB is a safe shuttle,
No knocking down, no hustle;
Every sq. ft. yield value beyond measure;
They are not consumed on pleasure,
Every person is a jungle of treasure,
They are not ruined by pressure!

I see an army in motion,
We are not for commotion,
We are highly skilled intellectuals,
With boots we trample rituals,
With pen we paint pictures,
Brick by Brick, we create structures
For an industrialized nation
With life balance and satisfaction;
Our Identity – Unified Diversity,
Our Direction – Life University:
We own leading institutions,
With life lifting innovations;
Wow! One naira is a dollar!
At 20, resourceful and rich!
At 90, strong with 10 years goal!
Meet Mr. President,
A mentor to world leaders;
Love is our landmark,
Rectitude is our hallmark;
What a beautiful Nigeria,
From the Hills of Plateau
